Transmitter operates on AC current and has an energy-saving power cord that, unlike other monitors, will not draw energy when the monitor is turned off. Receivers operate on AC current or require 3 AAA batteries each, for a total of 6 AAA. Fisher-Price does not recommend the use of two monitors in one house.
